Testimonials

" Rachelle, I’m so thrilled that we have been able to work together again. Thank you for bringing your calm, positive, expert Agile Magic to DQGE. You have had a hugely positive impact on the team and I’m excited to see them embracing our new ways of working with such enthusiasm."

Paula Jones, Sky

"Rachelle is an awesome team player and one of the best agile coaches with whom I’ve worked. She has shown great social skills and emotional intelligence to quickly build bonds of trust within some very challenging contexts. Rachelle’s grasp of agility, both in theory and in some very complex realities, has allowed her to effectively create buy-in to change and a noticeable shift in mind-set that has driven many of our best successes. Full of ideas when guiding teams toward their desired outcomes, she has demonstrated numerous times her ability to adapt her facilitation approach in-flight when required to keep an event on track, showing true agility in everything she does. Aside from this, Rachelle is also one of the nicest people one could ever hope to meet and work alongside. I would do so again without hesitation"

Richard Cook, Royal Navy - Scrum Inc

Rachelle quickly became a central member of the project team as the scrum master and Agile coach. She brought a really good understanding and was able to guide the team on best practice and approach from day one. Rachelle's fantastic attention to detail and stakeholder skills mean she was able to lead the team through planning and direction setting activities. I would highly recommend Rachelle, a valuable member of any team.

Ed Scott, GSK

"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Rachelle as part of a large-scale Agile transformation, and continue to do so today. She is one of the most capable and impactful Agile Coaches I’ve worked with. Rachelle brings a deep understanding of Agile frameworks and coaching practices, combined with a hands-on, thoughtful approach that resonates across teams and leadership alike. Her facilitation skills are exceptional — whether she's leading interactive workshops or delivering sessions using the Training from the Back of the Room (TBR) methodology, she consistently creates meaningful engagement and impact. She’s a trusted partner in any transformation — sharp, proactive, and truly committed to building lasting capabilities."

"Thank you for your time during our coaching calls. After 6 month on the job market I was feeling very rusty with my Scrum & Agile knowledge, but in every one of our sessions I had light bulb moments which brought it all back & helped me feel more mentally prepared & confident for my new role. In addition, you gave me some great new ideas I can (& will) use myself going forward into my new role. Thank you! I will come back for more coaching & some TBR training once I am settled."

Jake Millar, 1-2-1 Scrum Master Coaching

I hade the pleasure of partnering with Rachelle for 6 months in 2024, when she onboarded to our IS team to form an agile transformation office. Rachelle helped me to define a tailored journey that allowed us to first explain the concepts, then validate our shared understanding, before define and then progressively adopting across the different teams. She was the ideal coach for this journey, made no assumptions and took the time to understand the teams’ roles, needs and level of maturity. We were able to very effectively determine and apply ways-of-working that was appropriate for the different platform teams. Rachelle was a valuable addition to make the transformation happen. The team had a range of previous experience in agile and what impressed me her ability to understand, pace and adapt to each the team’s needs. While our journey was successful, always the primary goal; Rachelle is also very easy to work with and is a true ‘people person’ who really did became part of the team. I would recommend Rachell for anyone who is looking for an experienced Agile coach.

Rachelle exemplifies the ultimate trainer. I attended her Training from the Back of the Room (TBR) and her mastery of commanding the room, then getting the room to command itself were extraordinary. She has all the core skills of building and extraordinarily psychological safety spaces, but also a natural inclusivity and empathy I have rarely seen in over 40 years in I.T. She has expert, extensive experience off the TBR technique and that was evident in her confident, and natural delivery of the TBR course. As for the TBR technique itself - if training others with memorable, relatable techniques that are incredibly effective , while being great fun my advice is.. be kind to yourself , check out the next availability for her TBR training, and nab yourself a place. So if it’s facilitation to brainstorm, drive retrospectives, to innovate and create, or training on agile, or TBR <- which I cannot encourage enough to treat yourselves with, Rachelle is your go to person. There used to be a saying back in the day. “Nobody ever gets fired for choosing IBM”. Well. When it comes to facilitation, training, or supporting you or your company with any training experience - especially the secret sauce of TBR - “Nobody ever gets fired for choosing Rachelle Williams”. Thank you Rachelle for having such a profound effect on the way I think about and deliver learning, facilitation and training experiences - even those just for myself.

Rashee Harvey, Training from the back of the room

Finally got to experience some in-person training again — and once more, I proved myself right: learning alongside others in a room really brings out the best in me. Of course, that only works when it’s guided by someone truly special — and Rachelle is exactly that. She’s a competent, kind, and knowledgeable facilitator who genuinely loves what she does, loves people, and lives every day to the fullest. I can’t recommend any of her offerings enough. Rachelle brings a calm, cool presence and knows how to strike the perfect balance — fun and engaging when it’s needed, yet always focused and purposeful. Not once did it feel like a “typical” training session. I didn’t come from a training background, so this material really shifted what I do and how I do it — it’s completely transformed the way I design and facilitate workshops now. Thank you, Rachelle — I’m already looking forward to more training, workshops, and talks in the future!

Evangelo Panagi, Training from the back of the room

I attended a taster session yesterday on facilitation by Rachelle. In just one hour, I have come away with a plethora of skills and tips which I feel I can use straight away, and am really keen to get started. A wonderfully confident trainer, which really comes across, even online which is always more difficult to be expressive. Highly recommended as a trainer, she will transform an interaction.

Alan Muskett, Intro to the 6 learning principles of TBR

I absolutely recommend Rachelle’s course to any educator seeking practical, engaging strategies to enhance their teaching. As someone who teaches diverse student groups, undergraduates in extended face-to-face sessions and MSc students in online formats, I found the session truly inspiring and immediately applicable to my practice.Rachelle offered thoughtful, evidence-based techniques that I’ve already begun to implement. For my undergraduate classes, I’ll be incorporating movement breaks and structured pauses every 45 mins to help maintaining focus and energy. For my online MSc sessions, I’m introducing more pair activities to encourage active participation and deeper learning. The emphasis on interaction and inclusivity was particularly valuable, I’ve realised that smaller group formats, like pairs, can help quieter students feel more confident and engaged.Rachelle’s session has not only refreshed my approach to teaching but also equipped me with tools that will benefit my students directly. I highly recommend it to colleagues across disciplines who are looking to enrich their teaching practice.

I first met Rachelle when she was in my project management class at University of Portsmouth (over a decade ago now!) Later I supervised her final year dissertation project, which led to a publication, and she achieved a First Class BSc in Business Information Systems. Rachelle recently presented on "How the brain really works: six principles for facilitation and learning" to my students taking the MSc in Digital Transformation for the Health and Care Professions: https://www.uwtsd.ac.uk/programme-courses/postgraduate-pgce/health-and-social-care/digital-transformation-health-and-care Rachelle's session really energised the students (and staff!), giving insightful and practical suggestions on how to engage your participants, based on these 'brain principles'. These principles are applicable to teaching, workshop facilitation and to personal learning (which the new students found especially useful).I found it personally helpful to reflect on how we can apply these ideas in online learning, where the square box of the Teams window can sometimes feel very restrictive and static. I'm particularly keen on the idea of introducing physical movement - standing up to listen, comment, speak, question and so forth to keep the blood flowing to the brain - and keeping "lecture" type content in shorter blocks with quick reviews. The students gave enthusiastic positive feedback about how useful and motivating the session experience was. Some of the students want to follow up on Rachelle's training courses and I hope we can run a similar session at future student residentials. I am very pleased to recommend Rachelle as an engaging and effective trainer and facilitator.

Philip Scott, University of Wales Trinity Saint David

The training session was really useful - thanks again for organising it Helena. Lots of learnings packed into an hour. Rachelle got us all actively involved - drawing, talking to each other in break-out rooms and doing ‘standing surveys’ where you answer questions by standing, half-standing or sitting. It helped remind me of the training I got from Maven when I first set up my course with them. I’m gonna try to be more ‘guide on the side’ and less ‘sage on the stage’ from now on.

Working with you has been a genuinely positive experience. One of the things I appreciated most was how approachable and calm you were, no matter how many moving parts we were juggling. You have a way of creating a safe space where people feel comfortable to speak up, even in tricky or uncertain situations. Your ability to facilitate workshops stood out — the one we had in UK was very structured, but never rigid. You brought clarity and focus without making it feel overly formal, which really helped everyone stay engaged and aligned. What I valued most was your focus on people, not just process. You never just "ran the ceremonies" made sure they had purpose, and that everyone involved understood the why behind what we were doing. That made a huge difference in helping us move from just doing Agile to thinking Agile. Looking back, one big takeaway for me is how much impact a thoughtful, steady Agile coach can have - especially when things are uncertain or cross-functional dependencies are high. You helped surface challenges early and encouraged collaboration instead of blame. That made a real difference in how we tackled blockers and kept momentum. Thank you for everything, your presence definitely brought both clarity and calm to the team.

Priyanka Kumber, Atlas Copco

Working with Rachelle has been a truly positive and transformative experience. She guided me from having no experience with JQL in JIRA to being able to confidently create my own boards, dashboards, and plan views—fully supporting my team in the role of Scrum Master. Through the Scrum Master Community of Practice, which she both implemented and facilitated, Rachelle created a space for us to learn from each other, collaborate, and drive new initiatives as a community of Scrum Masters. Having her as my Agile Coach made a significant difference. She was always approachable and supportive, helping me work through challenges and find effective solutions. During my time in the UK, I had the opportunity to join a cross-team retrospective led by Rachelle. It was a great, interactive session that really helped surface blockers and challenges faced by the teams. Thank you, Rachelle, for your continuous support as an Agile Coach. You've played a key role in making my transformation journey smooth and empowering.

Sonam Chaven, Atlas Copco

I've worked with Rachelle over the last few months to figure out how to best set up JIRA to meet the multiple requirements of disparate teams working in different ways. Rachelle worked very closely with me to agree and develop solutions and has been extremely supportive in ensuring we achieved pragmatic outcomes that don't involve an unnecessary admin burden. Coaching and training support received from Rachelle both formally and informally has been excellent - she responds quickly to random requests for help and change requests , and will always go the extra mile to find out answers to tricky questions.
